- Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe - we never see or store your full card numbers

- Voice recordings: Optional 10-second voice samples for custom narration
- Usage data: Pages visited and features used (to improve our service)
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create your personalized storybooks with custom illustrations
- Process payments securely
- Send you your book's magic link and order confirmations

We do NOT use your information for advertising, and we never sell your data to anyone.
Photo Usage & Protection
🗑️ Your photos are automatically deleted. Here's exactly what happens:
- Uploaded: Your photo is securely uploaded and encrypted
- Analyzed: AI analyzes facial features to create your child's animated character
- Illustrations generated: 7 unique story illustrations are created
- Permanently deleted: The original photo is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers immediately after generation
- Only illustrations remain: We retain only the AI-generated Pixar-style illustrations — never your actual photos
What this means: Within minutes of completing your book, your original photos no longer exist anywhere on our systems. Only the cartoon-style illustrations remain — and those don't contain any actual photograph data.
- We NEVER share, sell, or publicly display your photos
- Photos are not used to train AI models
- Photos are not stored long-term — they're deleted automatically
- The AI-generated illustrations are designed to look like animated characters, not realistic photos
Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
We take children's privacy very seriously:
- We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13
- All purchases and photo uploads must be made by a parent or legal guardian
- Photo uploads require confirmation that you have parental authority
- We implement strict safeguards for any child-related data
- Parents can request access to, deletion of, or changes to their child's data at any time
Data Storage & Security

- All data encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest

- ElevenLabs: Voice generation for narration (voice samples processed securely, no photos shared)
- Google Gemini: AI image generation for story illustrations (photos processed securely)
- OpenAI: AI-powered photo analysis and story generation (photos analyzed securely, not stored by provider)

Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data - request a copy of what we have
- Delete your data - request we remove your information
- Update your information - correct any inaccuracies
- Export your data - receive it in a portable format

- Original photos: Automatically deleted immediately after book generation — typically within minutes of upload

- Payment records: Retained as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes)
